On Line Comics

I've been a fanatic comic collector since the late fifties, and began drawing comics for my own amusement not long after. Back in 1965 when I was 15, my best friend Tom Horsky and I compiled the Argosy Comic Book Price Guide, which is now recognised for good or ill as being the first comic price guide ever. Got a few copies of a reprinted historical edition around here somewhere for sale......well, if you're interested I'll dig it up.I didn't get around to actually being published until 1993, when in collaboration with Mark Sherman we published Strange Attractors #1 in May 1993, under our RetroGrafix imprint. Strange Attractors ran for 15 issues, followed by a sequal, Moon Fever, for Caliber Comics.

In 1996 I started publishing the fantasy anthology Mythography under my Bardic Press imprint, contributing a chapter of Empyrean Tales in each issue, as well as the covers.

I've also done a back-up story in Poison Elves #14 (the original Mulehide series that is), the cover to Dr. Faustus #1 and a short story for #2, published by Anarchy Press. I Had a short story included in the SPX '98 anthology.

Let's see, what else? Cerebus #183 ran an 8 page preview of Strange Attractors, and I did a 2 page jam story with Dave Sim in BLIP for Bardic Press. Also did a cover-featured article on Cerebus and an interview with Sim that ran in Comic Buyer's Guide #1267.

In 2001 Renaissance Press was formed, for which I edited 2 issues of  The Forbidden Book  , as well as editing the ongoing series Amelia Rules! by Jimmy Gownley.
